Catch Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 13, 2026
Catch is a Singapore bus timing app that helps you view bus arrivals, saved places, widgets, Live Board, Live Activities, and leave-now decisions. This Privacy Policy explains what data Catch handles, how it is used, and what choices you have.
1. App Owner
Catch is provided by:
Developer: Aditya Arya
Contact: adityaarya1021@gmail.com
Privacy requests: adityaarya1021@gmail.com
2. Summary
Catch is designed to be local-first.
- Catch creates an anonymous technical account only when you use the Feedback Board. It does not ask for your email address or password.
- Catch does not sell personal data.
- Catch does not use third-party advertising SDKs.
- Catch does not use tracking for targeted advertising.
- Saved places, pinned buses, settings, and commute-related preferences are stored on your device.
- Bus arrival data is fetched from the Land Transport Authority of Singapore DataMall.
- Purchase and subscription processing is handled by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store.
3. Data Catch Handles
Location
If you grant location permission, Catch uses your device location to:
- show nearby bus stops;
- choose the most relevant saved place for "Can I Catch It?";
- estimate walking time to nearby or saved stops;
- improve local route and trip suggestions.
Your precise location is processed on your device for these features. Catch does not send your location history to its feedback backend.
Feedback Board
If you use the Feedback Board, Catch sends the text you submit to Catch's Supabase project. Supabase assigns an anonymous account identifier to apply submission limits, remember feedback upvotes, and keep a post visible to its author if a moderator later unpublishes it. Feedback is public on the board by default. A developer may review it, update its status, add a response, or unpublish it. Do not include personal or sensitive information in feedback.
The feedback record contains the feedback text, anonymous account identifier, status, optional developer response, publication state, submission time, and upvote activity. It does not include your email address, display name, saved places, bus history, or precise location.
Saved Places And Pinned Stops
You may save places such as Home, Work, school, or custom locations. These may include place name, selected icon and color, usual or pinned bus stop, walking time estimate, and pinned bus services.
This data is stored locally on your device using app storage. Some limited data is also written to the app group container so Catch widgets and Live Activities can display your selected stop and bus timing information.
Bus Arrival Requests
Catch requests bus arrival and bus stop data from LTA DataMall. Requests may include the bus stop code needed to fetch live arrival information. LTA DataMall or network providers may receive technical request information such as IP address as part of normal network communication.
Catch uses LTA response fields such as arrival time, wheelchair accessibility, vehicle type, and bus load/crowding level when available. Catch should not be treated as an official transport source, and live transport data may be delayed, unavailable, or inaccurate.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Catch uses local notification permission to send leave-now alerts and related transit reminders. You can turn Catch's notification preference off in the app, and you can control system notification permission in iOS Settings.
Purchases And Subscriptions
Catch Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. Catch may receive subscription entitlement status from Apple so the app can unlock Pro features. Catch does not receive or store your full payment card details.
App Settings And Local Usage
Catch stores app settings and local app state, including display name, appearance preference, onboarding completion, Pro entitlement state, feature toggles, saved places, pinned buses, and local saved-place, pinned-stop, widget, and Live Activity state used for app functionality.
4. Data Catch Does Not Currently Collect
Catch does not intentionally collect email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, photos or videos, health data, financial account data, advertising identifiers, third-party tracking profiles, or chat or messaging content outside feedback you deliberately submit through the Feedback Board.
If future versions add accounts, cloud sync, analytics, crash reporting, marketing emails, or other services, this Privacy Policy and the App Store privacy disclosures must be updated before release.
5. How Data Is Used
Catch uses data only for app functionality, including showing nearby stops and arrivals, saving and displaying places and pinned buses, calculating "Can I Catch It?" decisions, powering widgets, Live Activities, and Dynamic Island displays, sending local leave-now notifications, remembering saved-place and pinned-stop preferences locally, unlocking Pro features after purchase, and maintaining preferences such as display name and appearance.
Catch does not use your data for third-party advertising or tracking.
6. Sharing With Third Parties
Catch may interact with Apple for App Store, StoreKit subscriptions, app installation, device permissions, widgets, Live Activities, and system notification services. Catch may also interact with LTA DataMall for bus stop and bus arrival data requests, and with Supabase for anonymous authentication and storage of feedback you submit. The current Supabase project is hosted in the Asia-Pacific region.
Catch does not sell user data. Catch does not share user data with advertising networks or data brokers.
Any third party that processes data is expected to protect data according to its own policies and applicable law. You should also review Apple and LTA privacy terms where relevant.
7. Tracking
Catch does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising or advertising measurement. Catch does not use App Tracking Transparency permission in the current version because Catch does not perform tracking as Apple defines it.
8. Retention
Local app data remains on your device until you delete it in the app, reset the relevant setting, or delete the app. Examples include saved places, pinned buses, app preferences, widget data, and Live Activity state.
Deleting the app removes local Catch data from that device, subject to normal iOS behavior and device backups controlled by Apple. Feedback already submitted remains on the feedback backend for moderation, support, abuse prevention, and product planning until it is deleted. The anonymous session credential is stored in the device Keychain and may survive an app reinstall under normal iOS behavior.
9. Deletion And Consent Controls
You can control Catch data and permissions by deleting saved places inside Catch, unpinning bus services inside Catch, turning app feature toggles off in Settings, turning notification permission off in iOS Settings, turning location permission off in iOS Settings, or deleting Catch from your device to remove local app data from that device.
To request deletion of submitted feedback and its anonymous feedback account, or for other privacy questions, contact adityaarya1021@gmail.com. Because the account is anonymous, Catch may need information visible in the feedback entry to locate the correct record.
10. Security
Catch uses Apple platform storage and permission systems to protect local app data. No method of storage or transmission is perfect. You should keep your device updated, use device passcode protection, and avoid sharing access to your unlocked device.
11. Children
Catch is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to Catch, contact adityaarya1021@gmail.com.
12. International Use
Catch is designed for Singapore bus transit information, but users may access the app from other locations. Your data may be processed by Apple or other platform services according to their own infrastructure and policies.
13. Changes To This Policy
Catch may update this Privacy Policy when features or legal requirements change. The effective date will be updated when material changes are made. If the app's data practices change, the App Store privacy disclosures must also be updated.
